Let’s get something straight. I am all for giving arthritic dogs a little exercise. But, I think we need to understand that there are limits to what a dog with arthritis can do when they have joint pain.
Forget chasing the ball
It is a common mistake for some pet owners to give their pet a high-quality liquid Glucosamine product like Syn-flex®, watch the improvement and go back to running them too hard. Sure. They are feeling better but let’s not go overboard. A walk in the park is probably more appropriate then taking them out to chase balls.
And, the usual case is that arthritic dogs are getting a little older. That also mitigates against pushing their exercise limits too hard.
It’s the age-old story with arthritis. A product like Syn-flex® to get them feeling better and to gain some ground on the cartilage issue. Then, a sensible diet and some exercise.
It’s all good if it is not too much.
